While on the pier yesterday (19th September) one of our volunteers Rena Lang bumped into mother and daughter, Jane and Stephanie Wilson and dog Barney who are “walking together” to raise awareness of the Anthony Nolan trust.
They are Walking Together for the Trust and their goal is to do 10,000 steps a day while here visiting different places.
Stuart was diagnosed with Leukaemia Christmas eve 2015 and without the Anthony Nolan trust would not have had an extra year.
On the anniversary of Stuarts death, they visited their plaque on the pier to remember him, being a keen scuba diver, he did many dives from Swanage Pier to see the wrecks around the coastline. Stuart took Stephanie for her first dive from Swanage Pier when she was 13yrs old, which she said she enjoyed but it was cold!
They wish to raise awareness of the work that the trust do, you can find further details on their website.
