For the third year Julie, Natalie Terry and Joanne Avery have donated a Christmas tree to The Pier in memory of Julie’s mum and Natalie and Joanna's grandmother, Jean Holman’s.
Jean sadly passed away suddenly at Christmas, a time of year she loved so much. She was an amazing Mum and Nan and the family find Christmas especially hard without her. Her nick name was Barnet as she always had immaculate hair.
When they noticed the Pier did not have a Christmas tree a few years ago, they decided to donate a tree and make it a memory tree, for people to come along and hang a bauble on. This is now an annual tradition in memory of their loved ones.
Julie commented, “It has helped us so much as a family to be able to do something so special at Christmas in her memory and we hope it will help others to remember their loved ones too”.
Every year we love seeing how full the tree gets with so many different baubles from so many people.
As we are unable to keep the baubles, you can come and collect them after the new year.
Normal Pier admission applies.
