Purbeck Pirate Festival

Storm Damage Repair

The inaugural Purbeck Pirate Festival took place on Friday 29th - Sunday 31st July. The Festival included pirate battles, live canons, Jack Sparrow, shanty singers, and we were delighted to welcome back the Shtandart 'Jolly Roger.'

The event was a great success, attracting over 18,000 people and raising over £15,000 for the 'Save Swanage Pier' appeal. Thank you to everyone who took part and joined us for such a fun event! We are already planning for next year!!

The future of Swanage Pier is in the balance. Parts of the structure, including 41 of the timber piles are in a critical condition, putting the Grade II Listed Pier at risk of collapse.

Swanage Pier Trust has until August 2016 to raise £900,000 to safeguard the future of the Pier. The Trust is making good progress towards this target, but needs your help...

On the night of Monday 11th March 2013, as a result of high tides and gale force winds, Swanage Pier sustained major damage to the walkway.

We are so grateful to a number of volunteers who helped to brace the affected section in the aftermath of the storm.
